In the automobile sector many components made of plastic are used to save weight and costs. These components are normally screwed onto/into the vehicle.
As the normal forces of the screws in the tightened state may exceed the admissible surface pressure of the plastic, compression limiters made of nonferrous metals or steel should be used in this case.
